A bridge\/structure can become fracture critical if deterioration over time leads to degradation of materials compared to their original design strengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Problems:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Excessive tension at girders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Stress corrosion cracking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Bearing and expansion joints malfunction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Piers and hangers over-tilting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>How to address the problem: <\/strong>Resensys wireless monitoring systems have been deployed in a bunch of bridges in Maryland and based on the monitoring needs of each bridge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul gauge<\/a>: monitoring responses of the girders to loading and temperature change and detecting new cracks due to corrosion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/resensys.com\/r20\/wireless-products-senspot\/structural-movement-tilt-deformation-damage-detection.html\">Wireless tilt meter<\/a>: monitoring movement of rocker bearings,
