Scour Critical Bridge Case Study: Wireless Tilt, Wireless Water Level Sensors and Camera on Continuous Span Concrete Girder Bridge
Monitored variables and members: piers tilt (incline; roll and pitch), water level of the river under the bridge, camera
Bridge Structure: The two west/east-bound bridges over river consists 7 piers and 2 abutments.
Continuous span girder bridge
Installed Devices: a Resensys structural health monitoring system that was deployed on the structure consists inclinometer 2d (tilt) and level meter SenSpot sensors. Inclinometer SenSpot sensors also measure temperature in real time. Also, a wireless camera was deployed on the bridge. SeniMax data logger with remote communication gateway were installed to collect data from SenSpot gauges and send them to main server and SenScope.

Monitoring Purposes and Methods:
- Inclinometer 2d (tilt) SenSpot sensors monitor pitch and roll of the piers.
- Detect pier instability hydraulics damage and scour condition
- Obtaining dependency of pitch and roll on temperature variations by performing regression analysis.
- Calculating and implementing temperature linear regression alert levels of roll and pitch for each device (2D-Alert Levels).
- Measuring water level of the river under the bridge by Level Meter
