Levee (Embankment Dam) Potential Damage Case Study: Wireless Health Monitoring System on the Levee
Project Preview (Monitored variables and members)
- Monitoring potential damage within section of the cables (main channel) runs along the levee
- Monitoring potential tampering/breaking of anchors (holding steel ropes) which hold main channel cables
- The resistance is monitored for each cable

Resensys Solution and Installed Devices
A Resensys wireless monitoring system that was deployed on the levee consists 4CH_RTDs at stations located in the different distances on the levee. SeniMax™data logger with remote communication gateways were installed to collect data from 4CH_RTD gauges and send them to main server and SenScope™.
SeniMax™ Gateway
Monitoring Purposes and Methods
- Detecting potential damage of the levee and tampering of the anchors which hold main channel cables by interpreting corresponding readings.
- For each cable, the resistance is monitored. A reading less than 10 means connected cable. A reading of more than 1000 means broken cable.
